Nolan Rosenkrans – Toledo News Guild President
I was honored to second Bernie Lunzer’s nomination for re-election as president of the NewsGuild, and I strongly endorse him.
As one of the youngest presidents of a NewsGuild local, I have frequently turned to Bernie for support as our members in Toledo have fought hard against an ownership group that views its employees with contempt. Be it negotiation strategy, mobilization techniques, internal governance questions, or personal, moral support, Bernie has always been there for me or my members.
Leading an international union is not easy. Each local has its own priorities, its own concerns, its own fights. Not only does Bernie care about each fight at each local, he also knows how to unite those locals into an international effort to fight for shared values. He knows labor law, he knows contracts, he knows negotiations, he knows the CWA structure, he knows how to build coalitions, and he knows how to win.
All unions have struggled in recent years, and the Guild is no different. In fact, because of constant attacks by politicians and greedy owners, we’ve faced one of the hardest fights in labor.
But Bernie hasn’t given up, not one bit. The Guild is growing while other unions are shrinking. Under his leadership, we are finding new ways to fight back and win for our members.
With Bernie Lunzer in charge, I know the international has my back. And because of that, I have Bernie’s back. I encourage all Guild members to vote for Bernie Lunzer.
