Due to the fact that some TNG Locals didn’t keep very good address lists, some union members were unable to participate in the election for TNG President a few months ago. Those issues have been addressed and the election is being rerun. If your Local votes by mail, ballots will be mailed to member’s homes on October 25.
If anyone is curious, this who I am supporting. As you read his account of the journey that took him to union activism and, later, leadership- understand that Bernie’s opponent has never been elected and served on a Local E- Board, has never negotiated a collective bargaining agreement, never participated or represented a member at arbitration or even at a grievance hearing. In fact, his opponent has NEVER EVEN FILED A GRIEVANCE (seriously, we have a guy running to be president of our union who has never even filed a grievance before).
These are tough times. Unions everywhere are under constant attack. We need leaders who are tough, imaginative, inclusive and knowledgable. Bernie Lunzer is four-for-four.
