Martin O’Hanlon

I have been a Guild leader/activist for almost 30 years, starting out as a Local unit president and working my way up to head CWA Canada. Along the way, I’ve handled everything from grievances to collective bargaining to writing constitutions. As a result, I know that the job of president requires a tremendous amount of experience, in addition to natural ability. I am thrilled to see interest and enthusiasm from new members. It’s refreshing, it’s great for the Guild, and we must get as many new members into activist roles as quickly as possible so that they can be tomorrow’s leaders. But whether today or tomorrow, it would be a dangerous gamble to elect someone with no union experience to our highest office. For that reason, I am supporting Bernie Lunzer for TNG president.
